Funny guy.
I wrote those words on November 2, a week in which the stock market made some sympathetic noises. It is perhaps a sad state of affairs that for some of us, the world turns on the Dow Jones Industrial Average. But the U.S. stock market is a poor indicator of the state of the world. In my opinion, it reflects nothing more than investor sentiment and, as such, has a nature that is whimsical at best. In the broader context, the world does seem to be in a bit of trouble. It may be ending every week for some time to come. (The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, anyone?) In my area of expertise, real estate, it appears we have only seen the tip of the iceberg.
